Aldbourne Band would like to bid a fond farewell to our Euphonium, Danny Jones, who will be joining the Cory Band after our appearance at the WEBB a regional contest in Torquay. Danny joined the band after a fabulous first appearance at the British Open on Peter Grahams Dynasty, and it’s gone from strength to strength having been our featured soloist at our inaugural appearance at Brass in Concert, and also as a soloist on our CD, Aldbourne rejoicing.
We wish Danny all the best in his future endeavours, and thank him for being such an outstanding player and member of the Aldbourne family.
In light of Danny stepping aside, the Band invites applications for the position of solo Euphonium. Successful applicants would have the opportunity to sit on the end for major contests such as the British Open, and Brass in Concert, as well as a sensible but challenging schedule of concerts.
We rehearse in Aldbourne Memorial Hall between 8 pm and 10 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays, and the position will be come available after our appearance at the regional contest on 10th of March.
