Aldbourne Band is pleased to announce the appointment of a new flugelhorn soloist with immediate effect.
Ffion Haf Morris has accepted the invitation from MD Glyn Williams to take up the opportunity as she joins fresh from a couple of years’ service in the Cory Band cornet section and more recently appearing as principal cornet with Llwydcoed Band at their National Brass Band Championship performance at the Royal Albert Hall in October 2023.
Glyn said “I am delighted to welcome Ffion to the band after her relocation to Wiltshire. Obviously I know she is a great player having shared the stage with her at Cory, and I am also confident that her bubbly character will fit in perfectly at Aldbourne”.
Aldbourne would also like to take this opportunity to formally welcome a further trio of new faces to the band, some of whom helped the band to a brilliant debut performance at the 2023 Brass in Concert Championships. Jake Bartlett and David Richards join the bass section adding youth and experience (respectively!) to the line, and Emily Collins has accepted the offer to join as the band’s new 2nd horn player.
The Band now looks forward to building on the achievements of 2022 and 2023, whilst at the same time bidding a fond farewell to Cerys Mair Hughes after a successful 18 months, and wishing her all the best for the future.
