A series of Firsts with much to look forward to

It has been a busy few weeks since the Grand Shield for #Aldbourne  band. We have had a series of firsts, with the Band really enjoying our first concert with @Glyn Williams at Stroud Subscription Rooms. This was the first time the Band had returned here for several years and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

This was quickly followed by a Massed Band Concert with the Bristol Easton Salvation Army Band. The following day the Band introduced Glyn to our first Pond Concert of the Season. This first concert was blessed with superb weather and a very large audience, by whom he was warmly received.
We are thoroughly looking forward to the next couple of months as we get down to preparing for our upcoming series of concerts and of course, our run in to the #BritishOpen. It will come as no surprise that we will be working hard through August as we countdown to our first appearance at this historic and prestigious competition. We will of course be fitting in the Aldbourne Carnival celebrations for our Village along the way !

The Band is thrilled that David Thornton will be conducting our carnival Pond Concert on September 2nd , incorporating this into a very busy weekend of rehearsals and concerts and marches (!) just a week before our appearance on the 8th of September. This is so important to us to play at this Village event, as we have been described by our supporters as “the soundtrack of the village” #Dabchicks #Aldbourneband.

Please check out our Website http://aldbourneband.org.uk and Facebook page to stay up to date with our upcoming performances across Wiltshire and surrounding area.
